“So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”
That was the way Jesus answered when they tried to paint him in a corner and force him to choose his allegiance.
This is important for us to hear, as we are in an election year. You can give them your vote, but you don’t have to give them your soul. Jesus reminds us that our commitment to God and God’s kingdom comes first.
So vote. Pay your taxes. But, remember, your heart belongs to God.
