I Have Been And Ever Shall Be Your Friend.

These famous words were first spoken aboard the Starship Enterprise to describe the loyal friendship between Captain Kirk and his first officer Spock.  As the story unfolds, Spock’s friendship leads him to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to spare the Enterprise from destruction.  But more importantly, to save his friends.

Who is your best friend?

Helen Keller once said, “Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light.”  A real friend will stand by you through thick and thin.  Those acquaintances who engage in relationships with selfish motives and what is in it for them run away at the first sign of trouble.

A church should be a community of true friends.  Jesus said that his disciples will be known by how they love one another.  Our friendship with each other should be superior to the friendships that exist in the world, because the church should model all relationships after Christ’s perfect love for us.

Join us for our Sunday Night program on November 1, 2015 at 6:00 PM as we explore these topics.  The study will begin with a famous clip from Star Trek as we begin our discussion on friendship by first examining the tight bond between Spock and Kirk.  Together, we will learn how we can truly “Live Long and Prosper” through a friendship with God and each other.
