The world was divided on the day of Pentecost. People were divided along political, religious, and racial lines. The Holy Spirit breaks into a divided world on Pentecost and enables them to hear and communicate.
From this moment of inspiration, a new community emerged – the church.
We are the body of Christ. When we gather, that body is made visible. It is my prayer that we would recapture the unifying power of the Holy Spirit and make that quality visible to our communities. May we join with God in mending a broken world.
