While we know the Christmas story in Luke chapter two, we often skip over the last character who proclaims the Christ Child. The prophet Anna was known for her pious devotion to God. Because she worshiped every day, she was in the right place at the right time to witness Mary and Joseph presenting their child for consecration.

At eighty-four, her age didn’t keep her from worship. Widowed at a young age, she didn’t let hardship and struggle become an excuse to keep her from God. As a result of her faith, she did not miss the blessing that so many others overlooked. She saw Jesus.
