What is the Ultimate Backyard Warrior?
Ultimate Backyard Warrior (UBW) is a ninja warrior gym with obstacle course racing obstacles and a cross-training space. UBW began in the backyard of Mike Cook’s home. He built the largest outdoor ninja course in the world, which led him to bring his passion for building obstacles into a full-time gym in Rocky Mount, NC.
Not only does Mike promote physical well-being through his gym, it has become a part of his ongoing testimony about how he was able to pull himself up by the bootstraps with the help of Christ. This journey ultimately landed Mike on the hit series American Ninja Warriors, and others from the show have ventured to conquer the obstacles in his back yard. Through his gym, Mike has been able to witness to others and point them to Christ.

Come enjoy a fellowship meal on October 18th, and hear Mike give his testimony. You will be amazed at his story of how he went from desperation to hope, empowered by Christ’s spirit every step of the way. In Philippians 4:6, Paul said, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Mike’s testimony is a true demonstration of that power in action.
