January is Baptist Men’s Focus Month.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

We are lifting up the men in our church during the month of January. We appreciate the men who serve in our church and who set an example as a mentor and and example to others, both within their own households as well as in the community. We encourage the entire family to join us for our special gatherings and worship opportunities this month. Help us spread the word and invite all the men in your life to come be a part of our church.

Upcoming Baptist Men’s Events:

January 17, 2018 at 6:30 PM – Gideons Speaker
Join us in the sanctuary for Wednesday Worship. We will hear from a guest speaker with Gideons International. Prepare to be inspired by his testimony of this ministry, and feel free to ask questions about how they put Bibles in the hands of people who need them. Our collection that night will go towards this ministry, and 100% of the donations will go towards the printing cost of Bibles that will be distributed.

January 17, 2018 at 7:30 PM – Baptist Men’s Choir Rehearsal
After worship, we encourage our men to stick around to rehearse our songs for Baptist Men’s Sunday. Many voices make for a stronger sound, so please consider joining us. We will also rehearse one more time at 10:35 AM on Sunday morning, January 21st, before the service.

January 20, 2018 at 6:30 PM – Steak Dinner (Sign-up Mandatory)
This steak dinner is open to all. However, sign-up is mandatory. We will only buy enough steaks to meet your reservations. The cost of this supper is $10.00 per person.  There will be a sign-up sheet on the podium at the front of the sanctuary, or you may call the church office by 12 noon on Wednesday, January 17th.  Church Office: (252) 443-3936

January 21, 2018 at 11 AM – Baptist Men’s Sunday Worship
The men of the church will play an instrumental role in worship leadership on this Sunday. In addition to hearing from our men’s choir, our youth minister Rev. Shane Lancaster will deliver a message that will challenges us to think critically about the male experience of spirituality.

Also on January 21st, all invited to a worship service at Trinity Lutheran Church for an ecumenical worship service on Christian Unity with participation by many churches in the area. Pastor Phil will be speaking at this service. Visit our 2018 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity page for more details.
