“I will send my messenger ahead of you,” Mark 1:2.
Before we get Jesus on Christmas morning, the advent season first offers up John the Baptist. John was not only Jesus’ cousin, but he was also the forerunner of Christ who paved the way for his ministry. John’s message was one of repentance and getting right with God to prepare for Christ’s arrival.
May we prepare this advent season, not just by decorating our homes, but through true repentance and making ourselves at peace with God.
