The symbol of our faith is neither an elephant nor a donkey, but the Cross.

Amos preached at a time when religion and the priesthood were owned and controlled by the government. Amaziah was a bought and paid for priest who answered to the king. As a result, Israel was led to sin and devastation was inevitable.

The church today may not be controlled by a king; but sometimes we become sellouts by allowing political parties to define the things for which we advocate. Do we place more faith in legislation to change the world than we do the mission of Christ?

Listen as Pastor Phil examines this problem by first hearing from Amos and his unique calling as prophet to the north. Likewise, reflect on your own calling to speak out and speak up on God’s behalf when our faith is compromised for political purposes.
