There is one thing this gas shortage has made apparent: Without fuel, you aren’t getting anywhere.
And without the Spirit, the church isn’t getting anywhere either.
This is Pentecost Sunday. Before Jesus sent the church on mission, he told them to wait first to be fueled up by the Holy Spirit. Over the past year, our sanctuary has been running on less than a half a tank. Our budget has been running on fumes. May this Pentecost be a time for us to fill up again as we get ready for the journey God is calling us to traverse.
